Katie Lindsay is a fine artist based in Northern California.
She was born and raised in the foothills of Los Angeles, CA, where she came to appreciate the practice of painting and the study of light. While attending the Los Angeles Academy of Figurative Art (LAAFA), Katie received the Student Scholarship Award every year for excellence in her studies. She graduated LAAFA in 2015 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) and relocated to the forests of Northern California, where she lives and paints today.
As an artist, Katie encourages her audience to think beyond their tangible reality. She strives to challenge her viewer's vision of the world, to have them consider the validity of what is real to them and to constantly be searching for their own reality, while questioning what society has presented to them as real. The majority of her work focuses on the natural world and our inseparable connection to it, making visible the intricate lattice that is often felt, but not seen. She aims to perpetuate the beauty of the idea that everything is connected and, through her art, aspires to share with her viewers a positive and proactive mindset.
